She is known also for her role as the mother of Angelica Maria La Novia de Mexico and also as the daughter of comic Raul Vale. The singer is believed to have launched La Balada Ranchera, a music genre that reached the top of charts in 1973 and led Angelica Maria to become the first Latin artist to have sold 2 million records in the United States.
